The bloke behind it

Daniel Hotschilt. Plumber, and the one running the digger.

Plateau Plumbing has been working across the Northern Rivers since 2017. Wardell, Bexhill, Brooklet, Alstonville, Ballina, and every dirt road in between. Most of it is septic work, because most plumbers would rather not touch it.

The advantage of doing the plumbing and the excavation yourself is simple: nobody is waiting on anybody. The trench gets dug, the tank goes in, the lines get run, and the ground gets put back the way it was found. One quote, one crew, one person to ring if something is not right.

The specialism

Septic systems, start to finish.

Design, approval drawings, installation, and servicing. Tanks, reed beds, ETA trenches, pump-outs and flood replacements. If your system failed in the floods or it has quietly stopped coping, it is worth getting looked at before it becomes a bigger job than it needs to be.

Design and approval

Soil and site assessed, system sized to the house and the block, drawings prepared for council so the approval goes through without a back and forth.

Excavation and install

Our own machine on site, so the dig and the plumbing happen together. Tank set, reed beds and trenches laid, ground backfilled and levelled properly.

Servicing and repairs

Existing systems inspected, pumps and lines repaired, flood-damaged tanks replaced. Regular servicing so a small problem stays a small problem.

The hand made brass and copper shower.

Built in the shed, one at a time, out of rustic pipe work and solid brass fittings. Designed for outside, where a shower actually earns its keep.

  • Jump under it and wash the salt off after a surf
  • Muddy feet get dealt with before they reach the clean floor
  • Guests get something they will talk about on the way home
